Another Successful Superbru Fundraiser

Superbru

After finally getting a chance to take a photo with all the prize winners and completing the donation to the local Klipfontein Rugby Club, I am pleased to give you a little wrap-up of our small yet meaningful project.

Currently travelling costs are a major expense for the club as they play their games all over the Eastern Cape and it is with this purpose that the project was started. At the time of the photo with the two club members they were heading to a strong position to be promoted to a higher league for 2016.

We will look to grow this fun charity initiative as the Rugby Club provides a much needed alternative of expression for the community as a whole. It survives financially largely by means of donations of some sort and this is where this fundraiser adds the most value.

We had a few ladies taking part in the competition and on average the ladies seem to be more successful that their male counterparts.

The competition followed the past SuperRugby series and worked as follows;

There was a R200pp buy-in
Half of the funds would go to the charity
Half would go to the top 3 ranked players in the following format;
2/3rds to the final winner,
the remaining 1/3rd would then be split into 2/3rds and 1/3rd respectively

Then in addition to that, there was a Project Convenor position prize for the players that ended in positions 10, 15 and 20 respectively.
These prizes were intended to keep interest in the competition for those that could no longer win the cash prizes.

This year's winner was Guillym Theron, who amazed all by winning the competition, especially since the last time he watched rugby was when he had to at school 11years ago. -This was previously said but, it seems to be his secret weapon so it needs to be mentioned again.

Here is the 2015 Rugby brain wearing a yellow had as crown, well done Guilly.

Second Place went to Frank Catherine

Third place went to Ralph Schmidt

Our Convenor's position prizes went to the following people;

Ruan Lundt finishing in position 10

Ockie Goosen finding the number 15 position

Jared Terwin on the number 20 position.

Then the most important of all, the handover to the Klipfontein Rugby Club;

We are thankful for everyone's participation, especially those from outside of the area.
Your contribution has been much appreciated and we hope to have everyone back again next year.
